With an 84% decline in freshwater biodiversity since 1970, the water crisis and water security is an issue no less pressing than climate change but is sometimes treated as its lesser cousin. Last month, CDP released an open letter signed by 30 investors calling on heads of state to raise their game on protecting the world’s dwindling water resources ahead of next week’s U.N. water conference in New York.
